Sorry but we do not allow dogs inside the centre.
- Can we bring a picnic?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a picnic and use the picnic benches on the patio area.
- How many birds do you have?
We currently have over 70 birds at the Centre.
- Can I handle the birds?
Yes, after every flying display our falconers will bring out some of the smaller birds for you to hold.
- Do you do off site displays?
Yes, we can tailor our off site demonstration teams to meet your events needs, we can offer both flying and static demonstrations or if you are restricted for space we can supply an impressive static display team. Telephone 01845 587522 to discuss your requirements
- How long will it take to receive my Gift voucher?

- Can I take photos when I visit?
Yes, as long as you comply with our Photography Policy.
We are happy for photos to be taken of our birds including during the flying displays. However please adhere to the following conditions
Please refrain from disturbing Experience Days by staying off of the lawned areas especially when course flying is in progress.
Please remain seated at all times during the flying displays this is for your safety and that of our birds and other visitors.
Failing to comply with these conditions may result in you being asked to leave the centre.
- Is the centre accessible to visitors with disabilities?
Yes we have paved pathways all around the centre, and blue badge parking right next to the pedestrian entrance to the centre, there is also a large cubicle in the toilets, if you have specific needs please contact the centre and we will endeavour to accommodate.
- Can i cancel an experience day once i have booked a date?
Yes but please see our terms and conditions
Terms and Conditions for Experience Days
We offer 12 months to take up your voucher from the month it was bought. Due to the amount of interest, we cannot offer more than one year, and we really do consider this is ample time, consequently:
Your voucher is only valid for the time scale outlined on the voucher.
No extensions will be given to vouchers once they have passed the expired date, except under exceptional circumstances to be discussed and decided with the Director.
Should you need to cancel your booked day and re-book, there is an administration charge if you do it three weeks or less from your booked day.
if you choose to cancel within 24hrs of your chosen date, we withhold the right to not offer an alternative date unless in exceptional circumstances.
Normally refunds for vouchers cannot be given. However an 80% refund will be given if cancelled within 14 days from date of purchase. You may pass the voucher onto a third party as a gift or resell the voucher as long as you let us know, as we need contact details in case of problems with the day.
Unfortunately we have to reserve the right to postpone a day at any time with reasonable cause. (Very Extreme weather conditions).
If we have to postpone an Experience Day to another date, we apologise but we are unable to give a refund in this instance. It is rare that this happens and we try to give plenty of notice.
Please note if you are late you will lose that portion of the day, it will not be repeated, as it is not fair to the other course members

Persons attending Thirsk Birds of prey Centre (TBOPC) acknowledge that they may be exposed to possible risk of physical harm due to the nature of the Event. TBOPC will not be liable for any loss, injury or damage, howsoever caused, to you or your property (“Loss”) except where and only to the extent that any such Loss is caused by the negligence of TBOPC , its employees or authorised agents. Without prejudice to the foregoing, TBOPC excludes to the maximum extent permitted by law any liability for such Loss. Any liability on the part of TBOPC shall be limited to the face value of the relevant ticket and any booking fee.
- How can i purchase an experience day if i don't have a PAYPAL account?
You can purchase online with most cards, you don't need a paypal account as there is a guest check out feature to our basket page or you can call the centre on 01845587522 and card details can be taken verbally or put a cheque in the post to the centre address along with the experience day requirements and most importantly your contact details.
